Millwright Journeyman

Diversified Staffing Services, Alberta's leading staffing agency is currently looking for a Lead Hand Millwright with a Journeyman Ticket and Oil & Gas experience.

The Leadhand – Mechanical is required to perform Journeyman level Mechanical duties, in addition to organizing workflow and production in the shop. The Leadhand delegates tasks to the Production team, and manages ongoing timelines received from the sales department and other leaders. The success of this role requires critical thinking and strong decision-making skills, as this individual will continuously collaborate with internal departments and customers to ensure deadlines get met. The Leadhand will take part in Production meetings with other Supervisors, as well play an important role in the beginning stages of New Build projects, by closely collaborating with the sales team.

Job Duties

  • Provide component troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs
  • Installation of new and added-on equipment
  • Conduct modifications on vehicles and equipment
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to oilfield equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues
  • Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies
  • Accurate completion of work orders and time cards
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
  • Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
  • Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Sign off on Time Sheets and ensure Work Orders are charged correctly
  • Run toolbox meetings and discuss daily tasks with employees
  • Complete redline drawings and work closely with Engineering to problem solve
  • Write up reports/procedures and answer Service calls for Coil and customers
  • Ensure Operations are smooth, productive, and completed on time by appropriate workforce planning and task assignment to employees.
  • Other Daily tasks and mechanical repair work as required.

Required Skills

Requirements

  • Must hold a Journeyman’s certificate, or have Red Seal.
  • 5 years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Millwright
  • Oilfield equipment basic knowledge
  • Experience working in a Heavy Truck Service environment
  • Possess a valid drivers license
  • Proven mechanical abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Computer literate
  • Own basic hand tools
